The area surrounding the Lozer Lodge is a genuine hiker’s paradise. You can take a short walk in the nearby Lozerbos forest or enjoy a longer hike by following one of the numerous marked footpaths. Put on your hiking boots or walking shoes and discover beautiful forests, never-ending fields and meadows, meandering paths across the dikes, picturesque villages and authentic castles.

Lozer Lodge has put together several walks and hikes for its guests along a variety of trails, some of which are even accompanied by a quiz!

Roger Raveel Hiking Trail (3.7 km)

This hiking trail follows the footsteps of the artist Roger Raveel along some lovely natural scenery where you will discover numerous locations that have played an important role in his life and work.

Mariette Tielemans Path (through the Bos ‘t Ename forest) (5.5 km)

This educational hiking trail will take you through the lovely Bos ‘t Ename forest and a long and varied landscape with a beautiful panorama view of the Schelde valley. The hike starts and ends at the ‘t Ename Provincial Museum and can be combined ideally with a visit to this archaeological Museum, which is certainly worthwhile.

Kordaal Route (6 km)

This hike will take you through the “Het Kordaalbos” nature reserve. The path climbs along the steep “Nokere berg” cobbled street and along the beautiful castles of the Nokere area.

Gust De Smet Hiking Trail (6.5 km)

The painter Gust De Smet lived and worked in Deurle, in the district of Sint-Martens-Latem. His soberly furnished house is now a museum. This hike starts in the charming centre of the village of Deurle and will lead you along the path to the loveliest spots around Deurle and along the Gust De Smet, Dhondt-Dhaenens (MDD) and Gevaert-Minne museums. The trail will take you through lovely avenues and along charming footpaths in the woods. You will find signs all along the trail with interesting information about the most important spots, the artists and their work.

Ooidonk Hiking Trail (7.5 km)

This hiking trail will take you along a picturesque avenue to Kasteel Ooidonk, a charming castle built along the Oude Leie River. The walk will take you along a fork in the river and bring you to some lovely open farmlands, called ‘kouters’. Rooiegemsebeek

Valley Route (13.5 km)

Discover the lovely Rooiegemsebeek valley during this hike. This walk will take you through the picturesque villages of Mullem and Wannegem-Lede, where you will discover charming castles and old windmills.
