Thanks to the lovely natural area surrounding the Lozer Lodge, you can be guaranteed infinite cycling pleasure. Numerous bicycle paths will take you along the splendid countryside, over charming dikes, through forests and valleys as well as charming villages where you can stop for a delicious meal or thirst-quenching beverage. The region creates the perfect backdrop for either a short, relaxing ride or a more adventurous and demanding cycling tour. You can choose to follow one of the many marked bicycle routes or create your own cycling tour through the extensive network of bicycle paths.

There are numerous possibilities. If you prefer not to take your own bicycle, you can always rent a bicycle from us. There is a locked bicycle shed on the Lozer Lodge grounds.

The Lozer Lodge offers its guests a selection of long and short bicycle routes some of which are even accompanied by a quiz.

Here is a selection of some of our most worthwhile bicycle tours:

 

Blinker Cycling Tour (31 km) (Blinker Fietsroute)

This cycling tour is an excellent family cycling tour that will appeal particularly to young cyclists as it takes you to some of the spots where the young Marc De Bel experienced some funny, exciting and frightening moments.

Golden Egg Route (46 km) (Gulden Eiroute)

This cycling tour departs from Kruishoutem. Cycling along this route, you will pass by charming castles and parks and enjoy the peaceful serenity of picturesque villages such as Nokere, Mullem and Wannegem-Lede.

Kouter Route (49 km) (Kouterroute)

This route is named after the typical green farmland called ‘kouters’. You will be cycling through an area with considerable historic value. The route will also take you through the village centre of Moregem, which enjoys heritage status.

Ecological Route (50 km) (Milieuroute)

This bicycle route starts in Deinze but passes along the nearby Lozerbos forest. The route takes you along the Leie and Schelde rivers, where you will discover some lovely natural surroundings. This tour focuses on the relationship between people and the environment. It will take you along a water purification plant and the “De Kaaihoeve” nature educational centre. Various museums, castles and picturesque villages are also situated along this route.

Leie Region Route (55 km) (Leiestreekroute)

During this bicycle tour, you will discover the picturesque Leie Region. The meandering Leie River was a source of inspiration for the painters of the famous Latem Group. You will be able to admire some of their work in the various museums along the bicycle route.

“Tour of Flanders” Route (72, 80 or 114 km) (Ronde van Vlaanderen route)

For those of you wanting to test the power in your legs and take up a genuine cycling challenge there is the Tour of Flanders bicycle route. Not for softies. The route is organized in three loops that will take you along the most important hills and cobbled streets that characterize the Tour of Flanders. Each of these loops departs from the Tour of Flanders Centre, which will allow you to combine a challenging bike ride with a visit to this experience and visitor center.
